Making Connections:

International District (MC:ID)

Transforming systems in the ID to better serve and work with YMOC and their families for social and emotional well-being

The vision of MC:ID is that young men of color connected to the International District are leaders who experience social and emotional wellbeing in a safe and healthy community, with access to systems that work with and for them.

The MC:ID mission is to engage and connect with young men of color, ages 12-24 years old, connected to the International District (live, work, play, pray or learn), provide them with opportunities to cultivate their innate skillsets, and apply those skillsets through planning, developing and activating projects, activities and events located in the community.

MC:ID is led by eight Youth Partners, young men of color connected to the ID, and the collaborative program includes T4B, Apex Evaluation and Community Partners. Contact Xavier at xavier@togetherforbrothers.org to learn about joining forces with MC:ID!

Capacity Building

The Capacity Building project of MC:ID works to build youth and adult partner capacity to plan, implement and evaluate MC:ID programming.

The vision of the Capacity Building is for young men of color and adults in the International District are able to make change from policy and systems to community partners and individual youth to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of YMOC and their families. This includes supporting the MC:ID youth partners and hosting youth leader cohorts and circles on bicycling and art making.
